Marc Todd

Artist Statement:

I am a contemporary landscape painter, living and working in the beautiful UK city of Bath.

I work across a range of subjects, however in recent years I have found myself focussing on cityscapes, tree-scapes and florals.

Much of my non-cityscape work is based on locations in the South West of England, an area of the country that I continue to explore, and find myself inspired by.

I take my primary inspiration from natural structures, textures and composition, and have a love for the application of vivacious colour, dramatic and contrasting light effects, and dynamic mark-making to create aesthetically captivating surfaces.

My work can also be found in many retailers in the form of officially licensed greeting cards and wall art.

All of my paintings come with a signed and dated certificate of authenticity.

BA Honours In Fine Art - Southampton University

Exhibitions:

As well as exhibiting individually, and as part of group shows across the UK, my work is also on permanent display at the Gallery of Contemporary Art in Wuxi City, Shanghai.

Professional/Teaching Experience:

I have been a full time professional painter since 2012, working with both individual and corporate clients.

Artistic Influences:

I have a wide and eclectic mix of artistic influences, from the traditional impressionist and post-impressionist masters such as Paul Cezanne and Camille Pissarro, through to more contemporary exponents of landscape painting including David Hockney and Kurt Jackson.
