Origin: Canada

My abstract landscapes are all about mood and color. Here I incorporated a city tucked safely within mountains and the desert. My canvases and paint are professional grade and are made using only the highest quality materials. The canvas is painted a deep rich grey on the sides and is 1.5 inches in depth which means you do not need a frame for displaying purposes. Please note this painting arrives ready to hang in Canada and the continental United States. If sent outside of those areas, the canvas will be shipped rolled in a tube. You may then have it easily mounted at your local framer. This piece comes with an official certificate of authenticity signed by the artist. Ready to Hang: Yes. Signature Location: Personal signature stamp on the back.

Canadian artists

As a contemporary, award winning artist, Loretta expresses her visions in a spontaneous and direct fashion. Acrylic paint is layered, subtracted and manipulated using palette knives and brushes to synthesize an intricate and distinct tableau.

Colours and shapes take on an energy of their own and each subsequent layer of texture and colour she adds reinterprets her thoughts and emotions.
Loretta works with the passion that her motifs, their essence, will stimulate the mind's eye of the observer.

As a self taught artist, all my techniques were learned by trial and error and now when I reach for a brush or palette knife to start a fresh canvas, I know what I want to accomplish. Mind you, I am still always open for new ideas and allow myself to push the envelope and experiment when I feel the need as well. I go back and forth between my various series as I feel that it keeps my work both fresh and exciting for me and the viewer. Creating diverse artworks is how I can best express myself. I cannot create the same artwork over and over again as I would feel locked in chains. I worked in a factory for a short time when I was young and certainly don't want to relive that experience in my paintings. My artwork may not always be recognizable because of this fact and I am perfectly ok with that. I do know that when collectors purchase my work, they are doing so because they have made a deep, emotional connection with a specific piece and that is what gives me and them joy.

Artistic Influences:

I have very eclectic taste in art and there have been several artists past and present who I have drawn inspiration from, however, I aim to create works that are uniquely mine alone and my true inspiration comes from within my heart and soul, through conscious and subconscious impressions, visions and dreams.
